Monaco Energy Boat. On the podium with Physis PEB

A team of young engineers from the Polytechnic University of Milan, who are passionate about sustainable mobility, and a unique event dedicated to nautical innovation organised at the Monaco Yacht Club.

Physis PEB were at the Monaco Energy Boat 2022 to test their creation: a hybrid boat combining batteries and solar panels.

The location was perfect. The Monaco Energy Boat is one of the most prestigious international events dedicated to sustainable mobility, where universities and companies from all over the world compete in “strokes of genius” to launch increasingly advanced and fuel-efficient boats. There were many important sponsors, including BMW and SBM Offshore, Ferretti shipyards, MB92 and Oceanco.

Running from 4 to 7 July, the event at the Yacht Club proved to be a success, with round tables, conferences, workshops and competitions to unleash new energy.

Here the Physis PEB engineers showed what they were made of, earning third place in the energy class award. Not only that: they also won the Eco Conception Prize for the sustainability of their idea, best time in free practice and came second in the slalom and the championship race. Thank you, Physis PEB, for bringing Italian creativity to the podium!
